A designer lover’s guide to Stockholm

Stockholm is known for its clean, modern style that extends into every corner of life. This is a city that loves design in all its forms. Scandinavian design is a design movement characterized by simplicity, minimalism and functionality that emerged in the early 20th century, and which flourished in the 1950s, in the five Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

The house is much as it was 100 years ago when the family deeded it to the city. And the courtyard, which is a restaurant in the summer months, is a true thing of beauty.

Saluhallen

In Östermalms Saluhall from 1888, people in Stockholm and tourists from far and wide are inspired by the cuisine at its best. Östermalms Saluhall has been named “The world’s 7th best food hall”.
