The Official Stockholm Pride Song 2019

Let us introduce you to our lovely friend and musical artist Daniel Mauricio. He has been seen in various musicals and productions over the years. The Lion King, Chicago, The Book of Mormon, Priscilla, Queen Of The Desert just to name a few. Daniel Mauricio is trained at the Ballet Academy in Gothenburg. He was last seen sharing the stage with Frida Öhrn, Gunilla Backman and Jens Hulten, singing and dancing in Peter Jöback’s “med hjärtat som insats” at Cirkus in Stockholm.

Fun fact: He has appeared in over 15 music videos. Two of them were for the Finnish singer Saara Alto.

Over the last few years, he has been working on his own music and this year he is doing the official Pride song, “When we are free”. He will be performing at the big stage in Stockholm Pride Park, Östermalm IP on the opening night July 31st and on Saturday night August 3. He will also be performing at our fabulous Pride Pool Party! Get your tickets here

“When We Are Free” is my own desire for an open-minded Sweden. The song I want to see as a thought and hope for a simpler life for us in the LGBT+ community and other minority groups. Continue to fight for our rights and help those who do not have it as easy as you and me. We should and we must continue waving the rainbow flag” says Daniel Mauricio.

Stockholm Pride’s chairman Vix Herjeryd talks about the choice of the song and artist, “We are excited about the election of Daniel Mauricio as Artist of the Year. “When We Are Free ‘is positive, powerful and unifying this historically important year, while inviting the pride and joy of dancing”
